Here’s to 2025

After a great and relaxing holiday break, I’m back at it with some great new content. I’m trying to focus more on video production this year and my first cocktail of the year is a perfect opportunity to dive in.

I’m no bar tender, I’ve never worked in a bar or anything so recipe creation is not my forte. That being said, the Old Fashioned as a template makes experimenting really easy! That’s right the Old Fashioned is a TEMPLATE - meaning you should be free to play with it and try new things in the format.

The formula is simple:

• 2 oz - base spirit

• Sweetener to taste

• Flavorful bitters

Don’t get me wrong I love a great whiskey OF but life’s too short to drink the same thing every time. Recently I was made aware that while some people observe Dry January, there are others who participate in GINUARY.

Here’s my contribution to the party -

My Winter Gin Old Fashioned

• 1.5 oz gin - I’m using Castle & Key Roots of Ruin

• 1/2 oz Italicus - a bitter orange liqueur

• 1/4 oz Pear and Rosemary Syrup - this is from a great local producer Root23 Syrups

• Grapefruit Bitters to taste - these are by Scrappy Bitters.

You can see the video over on my IG page with the link below 👇
